I was living at my childhood home in Ohio with my parents at the time. I had married my high school sweetheart, Doug Kempf, in January of 1969, reality in our hearts we continued to be newlyweds, Uncle Sam had other plans and that May, Doug was sent to Vietnam, where he wore a different hat. In Vietnam, he was a combat medic, who would have earn the Bronze Star with first Oak Leaf Cluster and six other medals: SP4
