I was living at my childhood home in Ohio with my parents at the the time. I had married my high school sweetheart, Doug Kempf, in January of 1969, simple fact in our hearts we remained newlyweds, Uncle Sam had other plans and that May, Doug was sent to Vietnam, where he wore a different hat. In Vietnam, he was a combat medic, who were to earn the Bronze Star with first Oak Leaf Cluster and six other medals: SP4
